what we do

OUR MISSION STATEMENT: "We are dedicated to making Erath County a better place to live, for all of us, by working together Erath County United Way is a volunteer-led organization dedicated to making Erath County a better place to live, for all of us, by working together to ensure that every individual and every family achieve their full potential through education, financial stability, and healthy lives."

Erath County United Way raises money to help fund a variety of local non-profit social service agencies that directly serve the residents of Erath County, improving the quality of life for us all.

We also provide referrals to all area non-profit agencies that directly serve the residents of Erath County. Need help?

Donations to ECUW come primarily from payroll deduction pledges made at United Way workplace giving campaigns. We also receive valuable support through individual donations.

Each year from September 1st through October 31st, ECUW works with local employers to educate employees about charitable organizations in Erath County, and asks employees to pledge any amount they choose to be deducted from their payroll for the upcoming year. The companies then send ECUW a check after each pay period during the following January-December, and ECUW distributes the funds to its Partner Agencies.

Every dollar counts. Even $1 per paycheck can make a difference in our community.

Individuals also make direct donations to ECUW throughout the year, perhaps because their employer does not offer a workplace giving campaign, or perhaps they are retired or not working outside the home. If your employer does not currently host a campaign,
you can start one
!

Unlike some larger United Ways, ECUW never charges an administrative fee to disperse donations to its Partner Agencies. ECUW’s only administrative costs are the salary for a part-time Executive Director, office and campaign supplies and the phone/internet bill. Office space is generously donated by InterBank.
