funding opportunities

The Erath County United Way currently offers two opportunities for funding to non-profit agencies directly serving the citizens of our community. These opportunities are described below in more detail.

annual fund

Each December, E.C.U.W. issues an open call for applications from qualifying non-profit agencies for funding during the upcoming calendar year.

Applications are due the following February, and the E.C.U.W. Budget Committee meets in March to determine funding allocations.

The first quarterly checks to approved agencies are mailed March 31st.
To qualify, an agency must:
  • Be registered with the IRS as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization at least one full calendar year prior to the application deadline.
  • Be in operation, serving Erath County residents for one full calendar year. (Calendar year is defined as January through December)
  • Provide direct services (health and human care, etc.) to Erath County residents without regard to race, color or creed.
  • Have an unpaid volunteer Board of Directors who meets at least four times a year, with at least one member residing in Erath County or volunteers residing in the County.
  • Pledge to aid in the fund raising process during the ECUW drive and limit their individual agency fund raising so that there is no direct conflict with the ECUW annual drive.
  • Understand and accept that ECUW allocations are based on criteria mentioned in the application, together with the oral presentation to the committee. ECUW budget committee has the full authority to recommend approval or disapproval of any request in its sole discretion and there is not guarantee of funding, partial or complete.
